Housing and Transportation

Whether you choose to live close to campus, in the hip Whit District, the south hills or across the river in Springfield, there are plenty of housing options to choose from.  With over 200 miles of bike paths and dedicated bike lanes, as well as the extensive Lane Transit District (LTD) bus system (students ride free!), commuting could not be easier!

Housing Resources in the Eugene/Springfield Area

University Housing – Family Housing and University Apartments
Family Housing and University Apartments offer a wonderful environment suited for students with children and graduate students. All admitted, full-time students are eligible to apply for apartments and family housing, however assignments are based on the priority guidelines.

Off-Campus Housing

Also search for housing at the following websites (not affiliated with University of Oregon).

Daily Emerald
The University of Oregon’s own daily publishes classified ads for rentals, roommates and more. This is another good resource if you’re looking for lodging close to campus.

Student’s Cooperative Association
The Student’s Cooperative Association is a student-owned housing organization that offers cooperative living arrangements in houses owned by members. There are three houses right on the edge of campus, including one geared toward graduate students. Membership includes both room and board; members share responsibility for the daily functions of the house.

Many rentals are advertised on websites commonly found in other cities, including the regional newspapers (The Register Guard and Eugene Weekly) as well as craigslist, forrent, zillow, homes, and pad mapper.

Getting to campus by car:
Not an easy, green or inexpensive option.  To park on or close to campus requires investing in a parking permit or plugging parking meters.  The demand for permitted parking spots far exceeds the number of available permitted parking spots; purchasing a permit does NOT guarantee you a parking space.
