International Students
The Department of Biology appreciates your interest in our program. We have several foreign graduate and postdoctoral students in our program. The University of Oregon has a high number of foreign students and a lively International Student Union.
English Proficiency
International students must be able to read English with ease, understand rapid idiomatic English as used in lectures and group discussion, and express thoughts quickly and clearly in spoken and written English. Admission is offered only to students who are fully prepared in English or show advanced intermediate proficiency in English.
Academic Credentials
To be admitted to the Graduate School for the purpose of seeking an advanced degree or certificate you must have at least a four-year degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelors degree from an institution of recognized standing. Funding
Your application will be greatly strengthened if you have access to your own funding source. Please include any information about such funding in your application. Our training grants do not cover foreign students.
